'Two teams vying for a spot in championship'

postdate: 3/10/2010

The Gateway Community Centre was rocking on Tuesday night. A2 Minor Bantam -- The team posters, the cowbells, and the noisy cheers cascading down around the ice surface, where the Sturgeon Creek Hawks and River Heights Cardinals squared off in a crucial tilt to see who moves on to the championship series, were all the ingredients needed for some high-flying barn-burning playoff action. The Hawks seemed to control the play in the opening stanza. 'After Successful Regular Season Canadians Leading Scorer Hungry for Championship'

postdate: 3/5/2010

Winnipeg- The St. James Canadians of the AA Minor Peewee division finished second place in the regular season standings and have tasted success early in the 2010 playoffs. Their leading scorer is Nolan Patrick; a highly skilled and crafty forward , Patrick has been a big contributor to his teams winning play this year. Having the opportunity to play with the same team last year as an age advanced player combined with the blessing of having two helpful resources of hockey knowledge in his family (Nolan’s dad Stephen, and uncle James both played in the NHL), Nolan Patrick has been ready and up to any challenge on the ice so far this year. Despite finishing the regular season with a staggering (and balanced) 81 pts(41 goals, 40 assists), in 28 games Patrick will define his season as a success with a championship attached to that stat line. Recently WMHA was able to catch up with Nolan Patrick and ask him a few questions about himself and his hockey past present and future. Click here for full PDF article
